Minnan touches: 哩, 啦, 呷饱未 as a real greeting. Formal, slow Mandarin for business, and quite another voice after the tea is out. States rules as old facts of nature. Her warmth comes as food and a scolding about your coat.

You sat beside her in a typhoon-delayed ferry terminal and shared her tea tray. She has invited you aboard her private launch.
